The course TEFL Practice introduces the application in classroom of the principles, methods and good practices in teaching foreign languages. It is specially designed for the students of the specialty Biology and English of Sofia University and presents the specific practices for analysis, planning, design, application and evaluation of the language classroom. Special focus is dedicated to the traditional and current methods of language teaching and their application in different educational contexts.

It involves completing training tasks: observation of teaching EFL in different classes and levels of education of a state schools, as well as preparation and justification of own lesson plans and appropriate materials based on the observation and discussion of real classes. As a result, a portfolio is started as a compilation of the artifacts produced in response to the training tasks. 

Upon completion the course the students will acquire knowledge, understanding and skills about the relevant theories and practices applicable to a language classroom. They will be able to design own curricula, lessons and materials based on this knowledge.
